Conference | Many pathways, one goal. How to achieve the just transition globally and locally

Shift away from fossil fuels and traditional industries. As countries transition to a more sustainable economy, it is critical that the transition is prioritised at the national level and is equitable and inclusive, especially for workers and vulnerable communities. Global initiatives and agreements such as the Paris Agreement are fostering international cooperation on climate action, but there is not yet sufficient sharing of knowledge, technology or financial resources to support the just transition globally. How to address this challenge?

This was discussed at an international conference organized by Forum Energii and the INETTT on 12 September 2024 in Warsaw.

The conference aims to showcase the diversity of challenges and solutions that can be used to address the transition in an effective and equitable way. This will be done by showcasing work from four continents, including governments in Europe (Poland), Asia (Indonesia), the Americas (Brazil) and Africa (South Africa). The conference is organised to promote discussion among experts from the energy sector, administration, scientific institutions and civil society organisations from Poland and around the world.

This international conference was organised on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the International Network of Energy Transition Think Tanks (INETTT) in Warsaw.  The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Climate and Environment of the Republic of Poland.
