Held alongside the Annual Political Dialogue of the EU Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition, the International Dialogue on Just Transition—hosted by Forum Energii and Bloomberg Philanthropies—will bring together representatives and experts from coal regions across the globe to learn from European experiences and foster international exchange on the challenges and opportunities of moving from coal to clean energy. The event will take place on the afternoon of 25 June 2025 from 14:00 to 17:00.
Taking place in Poland—Europe’s most coal-dependent country—during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, the event comes at a critical moment. It will provide a platform to address the complexities of the energy transition, stress the importance of accessible financing, and promote clean industries and innovative technologies that can help drive investment and revitalization in coal-reliant regions.
Participants will share real-world insights and engage in discussions on transition pathways in their own regions. With a strong emphasis on regional perspectives, the event aims to highlight effective policy approaches, showcase practical solutions, and strengthen international cooperation in support of a fair, inclusive, and sustainable energy future.
NOTE: The event is dedicated only to participants of the Annual Political Dialogue of the EU Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition. It will be conducted in English - translation into Polish will also be provided.
